Engaging in Dialogue
Building community relationships
Because community dialogue helps establish and maintain ongoing relationships, we start a dialogue with residents early in the project development process. We work to:
- Establish a cooperative relationship with the community
- Listen to our neighbors and landowners
- Share information
- Ensure our proposal fits the interests and priorities of the community
- Maintain an ongoing relationship with the community long after our projects are completed
Sharing information
In addition to talking with residents, we meet with:
- Elected and appointed officials
- Civic associations
- Environmental groups
- Other community organizations
We share new information, as it becomes available, through a combination of:
- Community visits
- Public meetings
- Open houses
- Local media relationships
