Barr Energy Center
About the Project
Barr Energy Center is an innovative battery energy storage project proposed for Highland County, Ohio that features batteries with a capacity of up to 200 megawatts. It will provide additional flexibility in managing the energy grid, helping keep the lights on when demand for electricity is at its peak. Barr Energy Center is more than batteries — it represents a significant capital investment in Ohio. It will create good-paying jobs and millions in additional revenue for the local community.
It is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, who is advancing America’s energy future with the largest and most diverse portfolio of power generation and infrastructure solutions.
