CAVALRY SOLAR PROJECT

200 Megawatts of Clean Energy in White County, Indiana

 

For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. Cavalry Solar is currently under construction, along with Dunns Bridge Solar in Jasper and Starke Counties. To date, we operate solar projects in 29 states, and have many more utility scale projects in development across the state.


Features of the Cavalry Solar project:

  • Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 200 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • 60 megawatts (MW) of battery energy storage.
  • The project encompasses approximately 1891 acres.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2022.

Employment Opportunities

The Cavalry Solar project will create local employment opportunities, including up to 200 jobs to construct the project.

County Tax Revenue

The Project provides approximately $25 million* in additional revenue for White County, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.
