For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. To date, we operate solar projects in 29 states, and Cereal City Solar will be the first solar project in Calhoun County.


Features of the Cereal City Solar project:

  • Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 100 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • The project encompasses approximately 600 acres.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations as early as December 2023.

Employment Opportunities

The Cereal City Solar project will create local employment opportunities, including up to 200 jobs to construct the project.

County Tax Revenue

The Project provides approximately $21 million* in additional revenue for Calhoun County and Marshall Township, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.
