DUNNS BRIDGE SOLAR PROJECT
700 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Jasper and Starke Counties, Indiana
For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. Dunns Bridge Solar is currently under construction, along with Cavalry Solar in White County. To date, we operate solar projects in 29 states, and have many more utility scale projects in development across the state.
Features of the Dunns Bridge Solar project:
- Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 700 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
- A 75 megawatt (MW), 4-hour battery energy storage system.
- The project encompasses approximately 5,000 acres.
- Construction will begin in August and the first phase of the project (265 MW solar) is scheduled to begin operations by May 2023. The second phase of the project (435 MW solar and 75 MW battery energy storage) is scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2023.
