IRISH CREEK WIND ENERGY CENTER
300 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Marshall County, Kansas
Since 2003, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel the state’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our country toward energy independence. To date, we have invested more than $2 billion in Kansas, including seven operational wind energy centers.
The Irish Creek Wind Energy Center features:
- 108 GE wind turbines capable of generating approximately 300 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
- Began commercial operation in December 2021.

Bringing Economic Opportunities
Wind farms are compatible with agriculture and are fast becoming an important component of farm viability in Kansas and many areas across the country. They can also generate significant economic benefits for the communities that host them.

Employment Opportunities
Irish Creek Wind will create local employment opportunities, including up to 300 construction and 8 good-paying, full-time jobs to maintain and operate.

Landowners Payments
The Project provides approximately $50 million* in payments to Marshall County landowners - stable, reliable income families can depend on, regardless of weather.

County Tax Revenue
The Project provides approximately $40 million* in additional revenue for Marshall County, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.

Local Spending
Wind farms provide indirect income to local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, caterers and other companies.
