250 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Webster and Franklin Counties, Nebraska
Since 2013, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel the state’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our country toward energy independence.
The Little Blue Wind Energy Center features:
- 100 GE wind turbines capable of generating up to 250 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
- Began commercial operation in December 2021.

Bringing Economic Opportunities
Wind farms are compatible with agriculture and are fast becoming an important component of farm viability in Nebraska and many other areas across the country. They can also generate significant economic benefits for the communities that host them.

Employment Opportunities
Little Blue Wind will create local employment opportunities, including up to 200 construction and approximately 5 good-paying, full-time jobs once fully operational.

Landowners Payments
The Project provides approximately $60 million in payments to Webster and Franklin County landowners - stable, reliable income families can depend on, regardless of weather.

County Tax Revenue
The Project provides approximately $45 million in additional revenue for Webster and Franklin Counties, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.

Local Spending
Wind farms provide indirect income to local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, caterers and office supply companies.
