Two pairs of hands holding a small plant with roots in dirt

Malden Solar is more than just an energy project. It’s an opportunity to utilize an energy source that is naturally replenished and will never run out.

What happens to the land once construction is completed is where the beauty of the project truly begins. In addition to providing energy to homes and businesses throughout Porter County, we take extra steps to work with local leaders in the community to bring the land back to preconstruction condition.

What will this look like?

Screening and landscaping are utilized to help minimize any visual impact.  Planting the right vegetation in the right place, customized to the location and size of the project, ensures communities and the environment can benefit from more renewable energy development.  This will allow the land to return to agricultural use once the solar project’s lifetime has ended.

The cost to the taxpayers in Porter County?

Not a dime.

The benefit?

Not only does homegrown energy benefit us by reducing our dependence on foreign oil, but it has a positive impact on the community that extends beyond being a resilient energy source. The Malden Solar project will be a significant boost of $35 million in additional tax revenue that can help to strengthen roads and maintain our schools for the hardworking people of Porter County. It will provide construction jobs and additional income to local farmers.
