PONDEROSA WIND PROJECT

200 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Beaver County, Oklahoma

Since 2003, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel the state’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our country toward energy independence.

The Ponderosa Wind Project features:

  • Up to 100 GE wind turbines capable of generating up to 200 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • The project, which is currently in construction, is scheduled to begin operations by November 2020.

Wind farms are compatible with agriculture and are fast becoming an important component of farm viability in Oklahoma and many other areas across the country. They can also generate significant economic benefits for the communities that host them.

Employment Opportunities

Ponderosa Wind will create local employment opportunities, including up to 200 construction and approximately 7-12 good-paying, full-time jobs to maintain and operate.

The project provides approximately $36 million* in payments to Beaver County landowners - stable, reliable income families can depend on, regardless of weather.
