200 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Fillmore County, Minnesota

Since 2000, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel the state’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our country toward energy independence. To date, we have invested more than $551 million in Minnesota, including operating wind, solar, and battery storage projects.


The Timberwolf Wind Project features:

  • Up to 70 GE wind turbines capable of generating up to 200 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is targeting to begin operations by the end of 2023.

Timberwolf Wind will create local employment opportunities, including up to 300 construction and 6 to 8 good-paying, full-time jobs to maintain and operate.
