WACO SOLAR PROJECT

400 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Limestone County, Texas


For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. To date, we operate solar projects in 27 states, including Bluebell Solar in Sterling County, Texas.

 

Features of the Waco Solar project:

  • Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 400 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • The project encompasses approximately 2,500 acres.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations as early as December 2023.

Employment Opportunities

The Waco Solar project will create local employment opportunities, including up to 300 jobs to construct the project.

County Tax Revenue

The Project provides approximately $50 million* in additional revenue for the Limestone County, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.
