WHITE MESA WIND PROJECT

500 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Crockett County, Texas

Since 2003, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel the state’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our country toward energy independence. 

The White Mesa Wind Project features:

  • 180 GE wind turbines capable of generating approximately 500 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy
  • Began commercial operations in November 2021.

White Mesa Wind creates local employment opportunities, including up to 300 construction jobs and approximately 8-12 good-paying, full-time jobs once fully operational.

The project provides approximately $80 million* in payments to Crockett County landowners - stable, reliable income families can depend on, regardless of weather.
