About the Project
The Akron Solar project is an innovative solar project proposed for Adams County, Wisconsin that will combine up to 200 megawatts of clean, solar energy with 200 megawatts of battery energy storage, making more renewable energy available to customers for more hours of the day, even when the sun is not shining. The Akron Solar project is more than solar panels and batteries - it represents a significant capital investment in Wisconsin. Once operational, it will create good-paying jobs and millions in additional revenue for landowners and the local community.
It is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, the world’s largest generator of renewable energy from the wind and the sun.
