BELMONT ENERGY CENTER PROJECT

450 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Maricopa County, Arizona


Since 2000, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel the state’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our country toward energy independence. To date, we operate solar projects in more than 30 states, including six other solar projects in Arizona.

Features of the Belmont Energy Center project: 

  • Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 450 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy and 450 megawatts (MW) of battery energy storage.
  • The project encompasses approximately 3,200 acres.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations as early as July 2026.

Employment Opportunities

The Belmont Energy Center project will create local employment opportunities, including up to 300 jobs to construct the project.

The Project provides approximately $75 million* in additional revenue for Maricopa, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.
