Up to 100 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Minden Township, Minnesota 

Since 2000, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel the state’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our country toward energy independence. To date, we have invested approximately $550 million in Minnesota, including Marshall Solar in Lyon County.

Features of the Benton Solar project: 

  • Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 100 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • The project encompasses approximately 2,500 acres.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations by Summer 2026.

Employment Opportunities

The Benton Solar project will create local employment opportunities, including up to 200 jobs to construct the project.

County Tax Revenue

The Project provides approximately $30 million* in additional revenue for Minden Township, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.
