COASTAL PRAIRIE SOLAR PROJECT

175 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Iberville Parish, Louisiana 

For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. To date, we operate utility-scale solar projects in more than 30 states and Coastal Prairie Solar represents a multi-million dollar investment in Louisiana.
 

Features of the Coastal Prairie Solar project:

  • Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 175 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • The project encompasses approximately 2,000 acres.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations as early as December 2027.

Employment Opportunities

The Coastal Prairie Solar project will create local employment opportunities, including over 200 jobs to construct the project.

Parish Tax Revenue

The Project provides approximately $50 million* in additional revenue for Iberville Parish, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.
