DEER VALLEY ENERGY STORAGE

About the Project

Deer Valley Energy Storage is an innovative battery energy storage project proposed for Maricopa County, Arizona that features batteries with a capacity of up to 250 megawatts. It will provide additional flexibility in managing the energy grid, helping keep the lights on even during the hottest months of the year, when demand for electricity is at its peak. It will also help balance the diverse renewable energy resources on the grid minute by minute, filling in the gaps even when the wind is not blowing, and the sun is not shining. Deer Valley Energy Storage is more than batteries — it represents a significant capital investment in Arizona. It will create good-paying jobs and millions in additional revenue for the local community.

It is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, the world’s largest generator of renewable energy from the wind and the sun and a leader in battery storage.
