HARQUAHALA FLATS ENERGY STORAGE

450 Megawatts of Energy Storage in Maricopa County, Arizona



For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. To date, we have invested billions in Arizona, including dozens of renewable energy projects. This project uses batteries to store energy and make it available when it’s most needed, improving the reliability and efficiency of the electric grid.

Features of the Harquahala Flats Energy Storage:

  • The project encompasses approximately 320 acres.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations as early as December 2024.
