KNOX COUNTY WIND PROJECT

147 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Knox County, Illinois


Since 2003, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel the state’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our country toward energy independence.

The Knox County Wind project features:

  • Up to 52 GE wind turbines capable of generating approximately 147 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations by May 2025.

Employment Opportunities

Knox County Wind will create local employment opportunities, including up to 300 construction jobs.
