MONDU SOLAR PROJECT

150 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana


For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. To date, we operate solar projects in more than 30 states, and the Mondu Solar project will be among the first solar projects in Louisiana.

 

Features of the Mondu Solar project:

  • Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 150 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • The project encompasses approximately 2,084 acres.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations as early as December 2026.

Employment Opportunities

The Mondu Solar project will create local employment opportunities, including up to 300 jobs to construct the project.

Parish Tax Revenue

This project provides approximately $43 million in additional property revenue for the Pointe Coupee Parish, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.
