MOON CRATER SOLAR PROJECT

300 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Power County, Idaho


For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. To date, we operate solar projects in more than 30 states, and Moon Crater Solar will be the first project of its kind in Idaho.


Features of the Moon Crater Solar project:

  • Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 300 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • The project encompasses approximately 4,400 acres.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations by December 2026.

Moon Crater Solar project will create local employment opportunities, including up to 400 jobs to construct the project.

The Project provides approximately $25 million* in additional revenue for Power County, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.
