NEW MADRID SOLAR PROJECT
200 Megawatts of Clean Energy in New Madrid County, Missouri
For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. To date, we operate solar projects in more than 30 states, and the New Madrid Solar project will be our first solar project in the state of Missouri.
Features of the New Madrid Solar project:
- Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 200 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
- The project encompasses approximately 2,000 acres.
- Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations in 2025.

Solar projects generate home-grown, renewable energy, while preserving clean air and water. They can also generate significant economic benefits for the communities that host them.

Employment Opportunities
The New Madrid Solar project will create local employment opportunities, including up to 250 jobs to construct the project.

Additional Revenue
The Project provides increased economic activity and as a result of the construction jobs, will provide indirect income to local businesses including hotels, restaurants, caterers, and other entities.
