About the Project

The Sumner County Projects are innovative wind, solar and battery energy storage projects proposed for Sumner County, Kansas. They are: Sumner Energy Center, Wild Plains Energy Center II, Webb Road Energy Storage and Drury Road Energy Storage. Sumner Energy Center will have a capacity of up to 200 megawatts of solar energy. Wild Plains Energy Center II will have a capacity of up to 200 megawatts of wind energy. Webb Road Energy Storage will have the capacity to store up to 300 megawatts, and Drury Road Energy Storage will have the capacity to store up to 200 megawatts. 

Sumner Energy Center, Wild Plains Energy Center II, Webb Road Energy Storage and Drury Road Energy Storage are indirect wholly-owned subsidiaries of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, one of the country’s largest energy infrastructure developers.
