Up to 300 Megawatts of Clean Energy

For more than 20 years, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel Minnesota's and Iowa's economic growth and quality of life and moving our country toward energy independence. To date, we have invested more than $551 million in Minnesota and $2.8 billion in Iowa including operating wind, solar, and battery storage projects.

The Three Waters Wind project features:

  • Up to 100 GE wind turbines capable of generating approximately 300 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2024.

Bringing Economic Opportunities

Wind farms are compatible with agriculture and are fast becoming an important component of farm viability in Minnesota, Iowa and many areas across the country. They can also generate significant economic benefits for the communities that host them.
