APPLESEED SOLAR PROJECT

200 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Cass County, Indiana



For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. To date, we operate solar projects in 27 states in Indiana.

 

Features of the Appleseed Solar Project:

  •  Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 200 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • The project encompasses approximately 2,000 acres.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations as early as December 2023.

Employment Opportunities

The Appleseed Solar Project will create local employment opportunities, including up to 225 jobs to construct the project.

County Tax Revenue

The project provides approximately $30 million* in additional revenue for Cass County, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.
