600 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Platte County, Wyoming


Since 2020, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel the state’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our country toward energy independence.

The Chugwater Energy Project features:

  • Up to 107 GE wind turbines capable of generating approximately 300 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • Solar and Energy Storage: A 150-megawatt photovoltaic solar energy generating center paired with a 150-megawatt, 4-hour energy storage system.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations by December 2027.
