GREER SOLAR PROJECT

170 Megawatts of Clean Energy in Washington County, Mississippi


For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. To date, we operate solar projects in more than 30 states and Greer Solar will be among our first utility-scale solar projects in Mississippi.

 

Features of the Greer Solar project:

  • Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays capable of generating up to 170 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy.
  • The project encompasses approximately 1,964 acres.
  • Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations as early as 2026.

Employment Opportunities

The Greer Solar project will create local employment opportunities, including up to 300 jobs to construct the project.

County Tax Revenue

The Project provides approximately $40 million* in additional revenue for Washington County, money that can enhance local roads, schools and services.
