About the Project

The North Star Energy Center project is an innovative wind project proposed for Lac qui Parle and Yellow Medicine Counties in Minnesota and Deuel County in South Dakota that will have a capacity of approximately 500 megawatts of renewable energy. The North Star Energy Center project is more than wind turbines — it represents a significant capital investment in both Minnesota and South Dakota. Once operational, it will create good-paying jobs and provide millions in additional revenue for landowners and the local community.

It is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, tthe world’s largest generator of renewable energy from the wind and the sun.
