200 Megawatts of Energy Storage in Huron County and Colfax Township
For decades, NextEra Energy Resources' subsidiaries have been helping fuel America’s economic growth and quality of life and moving our nation toward energy independence. To date, we have invested billions in Michigan, including dozens of wind, solar and energy storage projects. This project uses batteries to store energy and make it available when it’s most needed, improving the reliability and efficiency of the electric grid.
Features of Century Oaks Energy Storage:
- The project encompasses approximately a 72-acre boundary with 8 acres of infrastructure.
- Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations by May 2026.
